San Diego Padres Infielder/Appointed Hitter Luis Arraez was placed on the seven -day injured list in the concussion protocol, reported several stores Monday, one day after a collision at the first base with Houston Astros’ Mauricio Dubon.

Padres will promote Infielder Mason McCoy, 30, to the active list in a corresponding feature, according to San Diego Union-Tribune.

After an 11-minute delay in Sunday’s play in Houston, Arraez was mapped from the field and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, with the team that announced during the game that he was “currently stable, conscious, responsive and capable of moving his extremities.”

Arraez, 28, returned to the ball park and went back to the team after the match but did not talk to reporters for advice from team medicine staff.

The exam at the hospital excludes a broken jaw, although Arraez has a small lace. He will remain in the concussion protocol when he is at IL.

Arraez beats .287 with three homers and seven RBI this season.
