The operators of Station Casinos Inc. have applied for Henderson officials to change the design of Sunset station to add a Stoney’s Rockin ‘Country Restaurant, Bar and Nightclub.
In a letter to Henderson’s department for community development and services, a station representative is looking for a design review for the northern side of the building to build a 3,710 square meter covered patio attached to an area where Sunset Station Bingo Hall is located.
Representatives of Stationcasinos and the existing Stoney’s Rockin ‘Country Club in Las Vegas were not directly available to provide information on plans.
It would be the other Stoney on a station property. Stoney’s North Forty is located on the Santa Fe station.
The 13,000 square meter country bar at the Santa Fe station has room for line dance, a scene for live performances and a mechanical bull. The 2,300 square meter outdoor Louvered Pergola has a central fireplace, a dedicated beer pong area, other interactive games and plenty of seating to socialize.
A cover letter to the city of Henderson said that a patio outdoors enclosed with blackened steel panels, limestone treatments and wrought iron gates would be added to the resort.
The station’s application indicated that the new county field and the nightclub would use space that is currently being operated as a bingo hall. There was nothing to indicate what would happen to the property’s live bingo game.
Another existing Las Vegas Stoney’s is located on Town Square and is open Thursday to Saturday nights. It regularly offers women’s evenings on Thursdays, Linjedan lessons every night at 7:30 and 20:30 and a mechanical bull used for competitions. The club offers routinely live country music by touring artists.
This is a developing story. Come back for updates.
