Morgan Frost scored his first goal with his new team when Calgary Flames was defeating the value of Seattle Kraken 3-2 on Sunday evening.
Yegor Sharangovich had a goal and an assist and Jonathan Huberdeau also scored for Flames, who won for just the second time in the last five games. The goal Dan Vladar made 29 rescues to earn his first victory since December 10.
Kaapo Kakko and Brandon Tanev scored Seattle, who dropped 10 points behind the flames in the race for Western Conference’s second and last jok card. Joey Daccord stopped 32 out of 35 shots.
The game was effectively decided in a four -minute span late in the first period, after Seattle had a goal that was not allowed due to goal disorders.
Frost, who came to Calgary with Joel Farabee on Thursday as part of a trade with Philadelphia Flyers, opened the score at 14:03 of the first. Frost took a pass from Sharangovich on the offensive blue line, shared a pair of the Craken defender to get to the high place and got points on a wrist shot.
Just over a minute later, Calgary’s Brayden Pachal andre Burakovsky leveled with a high hit near the center. Seattles Jared McCann took exception and jumped Pachal, with McCann who received a double minor for Roughing and Pachal who received a two -minute penalty under the cuddle.
On the subsequent power play, Mikael Backlund fed a short pass from the offensive blue line to Sharangovich when the latter stripped against the net. The Kraken defender Jamie Oleksiak joined Sharangovich’s right arm before he could get off, but the puck slid between Daccord’s pillows at 16:43.
The Kraken challenged the conversation and claimed that Sharangovich met Daccord’s stick and pulled his catching glove away from the body when the goalkeeper tried to save. After a video, officials decided that there was no involvement and the goal was.
Not only did it do 2-0, but it also gave Flames a five-three power play with the penalty for Oleksiak and a delay in the game penalty against the Kraken for the failed review.
Calgary paid on the two-man advantage, when Nazem Kadri fed Huberdeau for a one-hour from the right wing at 17:56 to extend the flames led to 3-0.
The Kraken got goals from Kakko at 14:31 by the second and Tanev at 5:41 by the third but could not get the equalizer.
