Defending NFL Defensive Player of the Year and four-o’clock all-pro defensive end Myles Garrett has requested a trade from Cleveland, with reference to its goal to compete and win a Super Bowl.

Garrett, 29, made the request in a statement he released Monday morning.

“While I have loved to call this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages does not allow me to be self -satisfied. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a super Bowl.

Garrett is one of five finalists for this year’s defensive Player of the Year Award after recording 14 bags, three forced fumbles and a league-high 22 tackle for loss in the season and started all 17 matches.

The NFL Award receiver will be announced on Thursday.

Since he was elected No. 1 in total by Browns in the draft 2017, Garrett has taken up 102.5 bags, 20 forced fumble, 200 quarterback hits and 116 tackles for loss in 117 career games (114 starts).

He has made five straight pro bowls and six in total.

Garrett signed a five -year extension of $ 125 million with Browns 2020 and will count $ 19.7 million against the team’s cap in 2025. He would be an unlimited free agent before the 2027 season, according to Spotrac.
