Ollie Schniederjans will replace Mickelson in the life field this week and join the captain’s Himlyers team on Liv Golf Riyadh from Thursday. Hyflyers are still looking for their first team victory.
Mickelson said he expects to compete next weekend at Liv Golf Adelaide at Grange Golf Club in Australia.
“I am definitely disappointed that I will miss the season opener, but I look forward to playing in Adelaide,” he said.
Schniederjans, a 31-year-old who grew up in Georgia, missed a narrow life card alive Liv Golf Promotion event at the end of last year but got the right to play in the ten events in the International Series 2025.
He took advantage of that Sunday and won the international series India with four strokes over the US Open Champion and Liv star Bryson Dechambeau. Another blow back in third place sat a couple of lives players, Joaquin Niemann and Abraham Ancer.
