NBA Roundup: Hawks Nip Pistons, End 8-Game Skid

Trae Young made the game-winning basket with 1.6 seconds left when the visiting Atlanta Hawks snapped an eight-game losing line with a victory 132-130 over Detroit Pistons on Monday night.

Young led Atlanta with 34 points and nine assists. De’andre Hunter had 20 points, and Dyson Daniels delivered 19 points, seven assists, six returns, four steals and three blocks.

Cade Cunningham’s 30 points and 14 assists led Detroit, who had won two in a row. Tobias Harris contributed 22 points.

Cunningham’s arrangement with 26.5 seconds left banded the game, but Young then struck a long 2 point with the shot bell on the way to expire. The pistons did not receive a shot on their final possession.

Thunder 125, Bucks 96

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 points to lead Oklahoma City to a Milwaukee home route.

When he played the other night of a back-to-back, Bucks was without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. Thunder was without jale Williams, Cason Wallace and Alex Caruso.

Ousmane Dienng set up a season high 21 points for Thunder. Ryan Rollins had a pile of career 16 points to lead Milwaukee. Buck’s beginner AJ Johnson and Tyler Smith published seasonal with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Pacers 112, Jazz 111

Pascal Siakam scored 22 points to lead Indiana to his fourth straight victory, a come-from-bakom triumph over Utah in Salt Lake City.

Siakam made a game-clinching can in the last seconds when Pacers overcame a 12-point deficit for the last six minutes to win their sixth straight road game. Tyrese Haliburton added 18 points.

John Collins amounted to 21 points and 12 returns and Jordan Clarkson also netted 21 points for jazz, which lost for the ninth time in 10 excursions. Clarkson knocked off an Indiana incoming pass in addition to Midcourt in the last few seconds, but the jazz could not get a shot.

Trail Blazers 121, Suns 119 (OT)

Deandre Ayton scored 25 points and gathered a season best 20 returns against its previous team to help Portland Hack an overtime victory over visiting Phoenix.

Deni Avdija recorded 24 points, eight returns and five assists before de Fouling out when Trail Blazers completed a two-game-sweep of Suns and improved to 8-1 in the last nine matches.

Devin Booker scored 34 points and became the leading goal scorer in franchise history for Suns, but he missed a free throw that would have tied the game with 4.4 seconds left in OT.

Knicks 124, Rockets 118

Jalen Brunson scored 11 of the last 13 points for host New York, which overcame an 11-point deficit for the fourth quarter to send Houston to his third straight loss.

Brunson finished with 42 points, 10 assists and six returns for Knicks, who went 4-1 on their now gathered home. Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns had 22 points per piece for Knicks, which surpassed Rockets 46-29 while shot 62.5 percent during the fourth quarter.

Amen Thompson published 25 points, 11 returns and 11 assists for the undermanning rocket. It was Thompson’s second triple bold of the season and the third of his career. Jalen Green added 21 points.

Grizzlies 128, Spurs 109

Jaren Jackson Jr. Scored 31 points, GG Jackson added a season high 27 and yes Morant had 25 to lead the host Memphis past San Antonio.

Morant, who missed the two previous games with a right shoulder injury, shot 9-for-18-inclusive 4-for-6 beyond the 3-point short-and ended with 11 assists and three steals. Rookie Center Zach Edey contributed 16 points and 14 boards. Grizzlies played without Desmond Bane (ankle).

Victor Wembanyama, who set out San Antonio’s loss to Miami Heat on Saturday with an illness, led Spurs with 27 points and 10 return-his eighth straight doubles. Stephon Castle added 21 points.

Warriors 104, Magic 99

Moses Moody covered a 17-point performance from the bench with a late 3-pointer, Andrew Wiggins had a team-high 25 points and the Golden State exceeded Orlando in San Francisco.

Stephen Curry overcame a slow start to get 24 points for Warriors, who won for the third time in the last four games. Cole Anthony came from the bench to Tempo Orlando with 26 points.

Wiggins, Kevon Looney and Draymond Green had buckets during a six -point shortage that gave the Golden State the lead for good. And after Moody countered a Franz Wagner jumper with his 3-point for an advantage of 99-94 with 1:07, Warriors could hold on.

Wizards 124, Hornets 114

Bilal Coulibaly pumped in 26 points and reserved Corey Kispert racked 25 when the visit Washington defeated Charlotte and won back-to-back games for just the second time this season.

Kyle Kuzma provided 22 points for Wizards, who finished a 16-game losing line by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

All five Charlotte starts made in double numbers, led by Miles Bridges and Nick Smith Jr. with 24 points per piece. Bridges had the first triple tub of his career and delivered 10 returns and 10 assists.

Nuggets 125, Pelicans 113

Michael Porter Jr. got a season high 36 points, Nikola Jokic had 27 points, 14 returns and 10 assists and host Denver beat New Orleans.

Jamal Murray finished with 20 points and eight assists for Nuggets, who lacked three rotational players: Russell Westbrook (Hamstring), Peyton Watson (knee) and Aaron Gordon (injury management).

Pelican Trey Murphy III banded his career high with 41 points and matched a season high with eight 3 points. He had 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting during the third quarter.

Kings 116, Timberwolves 114

Demar Derozan scored 33 points on 14-for-25 shooting and Sacramento kept on a victory over Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Malik Monk added 26 points and eight returns for Sacramento, who only won for the second time in the last six games. Naz Reid received 30 points on 12-for-19 shooting to lead Minnesota.

Monk made two free throw to make it 114-111 Kings with 6.8 seconds left. Sabonis is revealed to two more free throws to increase the lead to five points by 5.2 seconds left. Timberwolves Anthony Edwards met a 3-point just before the summer, but it was too little, too late.
