Chris Kreider scored a tiebreaking short-handed goal with 8:06 when hosting New York Rangers collected again during the third period for a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday evening.
Rangers won for the third time this season when he beat after 40 minutes and for the second time in so many games.
Kreider’s third short-handed goal for the season helped Rangers improve to 9-3-3 in the last 15 matches. Vincent Trocheck and Artemi Panarin also scored for New York. Mika Zibanejad had two assists, and Igor Shesterkin made 15 rescues.
David Pastrnak scored his 11th goal during a 12-game point strip and Elias Lindholm also counted for Bruins, who lost for the first time in regulation (16-1-4) when he took a lead into the third. Joonas Korpisalo stopped 19 shots.
Oilers 4, Blackhawks 3 (OT)
Zach Hyman scored a Power-play goal in overtime and Leon Draisaitl and Jeff Skinner each had a goal and help lifting the visiting Edmonton past Chicago.
Calvin Pickard stopped 29 shots for Oilers, who also got a goal from Viktor Arvidsson. Edmonton won overtime for the second night in a row, after a 3-2 victory over St. Louis Blues.
Ryan Donato had a goal and an assist in the last eight minutes of regulation when Chicago dried up a two -goal deficit. Alec Martinez had the bond with 3:44 to go. Lukas Reichel also scored, Teuvo Tevainen recorded two assists and Arvid Soderblom made 34 rescues.
Kings 6, Canadiens 3
Kevin Fiala scored two goals from the third period, which led Los Angeles to a victory to visit Montreal.
Vladislav Gavrikov and Warren Foegele each had a goal and one assistant, Quinton Byfield noted three assists and Darcy Kuemper made 18 rescues for Kings, who have won two in a row after a seasonal four-game ski (0-3-1). Los Angeles’ Brandt Clarke and Trevor Moore did too.
Defender Mike Matheson, Alexandre Carrier and Logan Mailloux scored and Jakub Dobes scored 31 saves for Canadiens, who have lost six out of seven (1-5-1).
