No. 24 Michigan is on, hands Indiana 5th straight loss

Danny Wolf had 20 points and nine returns to lead No. 24 Michigan to a victory 70-67 over Indiana in Bloomington, Ind., On Saturday in a Big Ten competition.

Vladislav Goldin and Three Donaldson each scored 18 points for Michigan (18-5, 10-2), who have won three straight and stopped half a game behind league-leading Purdue that went into a matchup with no 7 Boilermakers on Tuesday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Malik Reneau got 16 points and Mackenzie Mgbako had 15 points for Indiana (14-10, 5-8), which has lost five straight matches. Hoosiers shot 41.7 percent (25 out of 60) from the field and 31.6 percent (6 of 19) from 3-point intervals.

Michigan took a lead of 66-61 with 1:25 left after a three-point game by Wolf, who was fouled while doing a runner in the track.

Indiana made it 66-63 with 1:01 left on a layout of Reneau and then got a stop on defense.

After a timeout, Indiana went for a quick tie, but Mgbako missed a 3-pointer and Michigan got possession with 20.5 seconds left.

Donaldson was fouled on the subsequent incoming, and he missed the front of a one-in-one. Michigan chose to Foul Trey Galloway with 12.5 seconds left, and Galloway made a free throw to make it 66-64.

Wolf was fouled after receiving a recovery with 11.3 seconds left, and he made both the free throw to give Michigan a 68-64 lead.

After Reneaus missed 3-pointer, Wolf met two free throw to seal the victory. A half -touring shot by Indiana went in at the summer to finish the score.

After seeing an 18-point lead cut to one at 53-52, Michigan got sex straight to take a 59-52 lead with 6:56 left.

Indiana replied and made seven straight to create a 59-59 tie with 4:08 left.

Michigan had a lead of 43-27 at half time and shot 51.9 percent (14 out of 27) during the first half. For the game, visitors hit 44.4 percent (24 out of 54) of their shots from the field and 23.8 percent (5 out of 21) from 3-point intervals.

Wolverines built a lead of 49-32 with 17:18 left before Indiana gathered and went on a 12-2 run to cut Michigan’s lead to 51-44 with 13:27.
