Oklahoma State and UCF-that went in this week tied for 13th place in the Big 12 position-opening its regular season series on Wednesday evening in Stillwater, Okla.
The re-match is scheduled for March 5 in Orlando, Florida leading up to the BIG 12 tournament in Kansas City, MO., where both teams operate on their way to one of the first four rounds on March 11.
UCF (13-12, 4-10 BIG 12) are associated with a six-game skid that included a two-digit setback to Conference Cellar-Dweller Colorado on Saturday. Oklahoma State (12-13, 4-10) fell below .500 for the first time this season after Saturday’s exhaust loss at 93-55 to then no. 12 Texas Tech.
UCF’s Keyshawn Hall continues to lead BIG 12 in points during conference games of 21.1 points per match. But after meeting 14 triples in a four -point loss in Kansas on January 28, Knights shot only 28.2 percent (33 out of 117) as a team beyond the arch in the next five matches.
In addition, UCF has not exceeded an opponent during the second half during his six-game image. Colorado followed a 38-27 point edge after half time to win 76-63 on Saturday.
“To start the second half, I thought for us, I thought we got some pretty good pictures,” said UCF coach Johnny Dawkins. “We didn’t meet them and it helped (the buffalo) too, so they had some good shots during the second half, and they could beat them down. I thought we had a little pretty neat and we didn’t” hit them down, and that’s part of the basketball. ”
Three days after a Summer-Beating loss at TCU, Oklahoma State fought poorly against Texas Tech for Cowboy’s largest defeat margin since 2019, when they lost by 39 in Kansas State.
Marchelus Avery got a team high 13 points when Oklahoma State fell to 9-3 at home.
“We’re better than that,” said Cowboys coach Steve Lutz. “We have played better than that, and for some reason (Saturday) we did not compete at the level we need to compete in in this league to be successful.”
Avery gets 12.2 points per match, Abou Ousmane adds 11.8 and Bryce Thompson is on average 11.6 for Cowboys.
