PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Liv Golf leader are in Washington, DC, to meet President Donald Trump, Golfweek reported on Thursday.

The Thursday meeting was first reported by Radar Atlas, a place that tracked private jet and air travel, which confirmed aircraft that were connected to the tour and Policy Board Player Director Adam Scott was in DC on Wednesday evening.

Golfweek reported Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund Governor Yasir al-Rumayyan also confirmed for the Trump meeting, which has met over the past two weeks with Monahan and Tiger Woods. Woods said Sunday during the Genesis Open broadcast that a meeting between the two pages was imminent and he considered that an agreement was possible this year.

Monahan and Scott, the tour director of the tour, met Trump in the White House earlier this month. Monahan publicly stated that he welcomed Trump’s commitment to the negotiations.

Woods judged that the negotiations were in a “very positive place right now.”

“I think things will heal quickly. We will get this game running in the right direction,” Woods said during last week’s tournament broadcast. “It’s been heading in the wrong direction for a number of years and the fans want us to all play together, all the top players playing together and we will make it happen.”

A framework agreement for a potential merger of the tours was introduced in June 2023.

Al-Rumayyan has played golf with Trump. PIF is a benefactor of Liv Golf and Trump’s private business.
