Team Liquid and Spacestation Gaming stayed alive in the hunt for the two best playoffs in North American Step 1 in the Overwatch Champions series on Saturday.
Liquid Swept Avitude 3-0, and the distance made the same way Shikigami. These winners joined Timeless and NTMR with 5-1 records that entered the last day of the regular Round Robin season on Sunday.
In Saturday’s second match, Rad Esports reinforced 3-0.
The $ 100,000 tournament, which is played online, has eight teams. Sex will qualify for the regional playoffs with double elimination. The four best teams are sure to start the playoffs in the upper console, although the two best teams are allowed to choose their first opponents among third and fourth place teams.
Team Liquid won 2-0 at Lijiang Tower Control, 103.69 m to 63.91 m at Colosseo Push and 5-4 at Havana Escort. Boston “Infected” fine of the United States was named Match MVP.
The distance dominated in its sweep and began with a 2-0 victory at Lijiang Tower Control. Then came a victory of 107.95 m-91.8 m on Esperanca Push, followed by a 3-0 victory at Suravasa Flashpoint. Alex “Seeker” Taylor of Canada received MVP awards.
Rad’s Sweep started with identical 2-1 points on Nepal Control and Havana Escort and ended with a 3-0 victory on Suravasa Flashpoint. Rocco “chronic” Iacobacci in the United States was named MVP.
The first place will take home $ 30,000, and the team in second place will earn $ 20,000 and both will serve berths in OCS’s Champions Clash.
