NBA Roundup: Wolves Swat Thunder on overtime

Anthony Edwards brought a block in the closing seconds of overtime to help lift the Minnesota Timberwolves to a fantastic 131-128 road victory over Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.

Timberwolves dragged with as much as 24 during the fourth quarter and with 16 with less than four minutes left. However, Minnesota scored the last 16 points of the quarter, completed by Jaden McDaniels who converted one and an arrangement with 11 seconds left to force overtime.

In overtime, after Naz Reid made two free throw to put Timberwolves on the top 129-128 with 22 seconds left, Thunder put the ball in Gilgeous-Alexander’s hands coming out of a timeout. Edwards came over from the auxiliary side to block Gilgeous-Alexander’s shot.

Minnesota Terrence Shannon Jr. Grabbed Rebound and Nickeil Alexander-Walker-Gilgeous-Alexander’s cousin-made a couple of free throw. Edwards then matched with Gilgeous-Alexander once again in the closing seconds and forced a missed 3-pointer to end the game.

Nuggets 125, Pacers 116

Aaron Gordon scored 25 points, Michael Porter Jr. had 19 points and 11 returns and Nikola Jokic added 18 points, nine returns and a career pile of 19 assist Denver beat Indiana in Indianapolis.

Christian Braun had 17 points for Denver, who bounced back after getting his nine-game winning row snapped in a 123-100 home loss to Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. Jamal Murray added 16 points and Zeke Nnaji had 14 from the bench.

Myles Turner led Indiana with 23 points. Tyrese Haliburton added 19 points and 15 assists, Pascal Siakam had 19 points and nine returns, Aaron Nesmith scored 17 points and Obi Toppin finished with 11.

Bulls 142, 76ers 110

Josh Giddey scored 25 points, Kevin Huter deded to 23 and Zach Collins had 19 when Chicago directed host Philadelphia, which extended his losing line to eight matches.

Bulls broke down an impressive 50.6 percent of the field goals (45 out of 89) and 45 percent of 3-points (18 out of 40) and snapped their own six-match losing line in the victory.

Led by 19 points per piece from Kelly Oubre Jr. And Paul George, missing the 76th former MVP Joel Embiid – who underwent imaging on his left knee – and dragged as many as 50 points during the competition.

Pistons 106, Clippers 97

Cade Cunningham published 29 points, nine boards and seven assists when Detroit picked up his seventh straight victory – Franchiset’s longest winning line since the 2014-15 season.

The pistons used a short-handed Los Angeles team that played without its leading goal scorer in Norman Powell and franchise player Kawhi Leonard. Still, Clippers took the lead early in the third quarter before Detroit responded with a Cunningham arrangement and an alley-oop-can from the Jalen Duren.

Los Angeles reduced the gap to four points during the fourth quarter. But a 3-pointer from Malik Beasley put Detroit back in front of 96-84, and Cunningham’s 3-pointer with 1:06 to play the game for Pistons, who handed over the Clippers his third straight loss.

James Harden paced Los Angeles with 18 points and 12 returns, but he also committed seven sales.

Wizards 107, Nets 99

Jordan Poole scored 26 points, Bilal Coulibaly added 20 and Washington snapped a sex game losing line with a home victory over Brooklyn.

The sorcerers closed the game on an 11-2 driving and held Nets without a field goal for the final 4:45. That route included a Brooklyn -point dryer of more than four minutes. Poole and Coulibaly shot a combined 8-for-12 beyond the arc for the game, with pool that sank 5 out of 8.

Ziaire Williams 19 points led Nets. Cameron Johnson added 17 and Tyrese Martin scored 15 points from the bench.

Kings 130, Hornets 88

Zach Lavine exploded for a season high 42 points in 31 minutes, Malik Monk recorded a double double, and Sacramento gradually pulled away from visiting Charlotte.

Lavine met 16 of her 19 shots, including 8 of 9 from 3-point intervals, on the way to the 22nd 40-point game in her career. Monk added 13 points and 10 assists while Demar Derozan had 18 points for the kings, who snapped a two-game losing line.

Miles Bridges had 23 points to take Hornets, who played their seventh road game in a row and took their second straight loss of at least 42 points. On Saturday, Charlotte fell with 53 points in Portland.

Hawks 98, Heat 86

With 11 points and 14 assists, Trae Young picked up their 34th double down of the season, one of six Atlanta players who made in double numbers, when the hawks snapped a three-game skid with home victory.

Onyka Okongwu had 17 points to take care of Atlanta, while both Caris Levert and Terance Mann chipped in with 15 points from the bench.

Andrew Wiggins got 23 for his third straight 20-point game for Heat, which finished only 7-of-40 from 3 points. Leading painter Tyler Herro ended with only 11 points, all nine of his 3-point attempts when Miami lost for the sixth time in seven matches.

Trail Blazers 114, Jazz 112

Anternee Simons had 28 points, and Portland resisted a late barrier of 3-points from Keyonte George to record his 12th victory in 17 matches.

Leading with as many as 13, Trail blazers fell behind 92-90 early in the fourth quarter before a 9-0 driving put Blazers back on top with seven points. After building a 10-point lead with just over four minutes left, the jazz then stormed back.

George met a 3-pointer with under 12 seconds left to reduce the deficit to 111-109, then, after two made a free throw from Simons, buried another triple with four seconds left to set the score at 113-112.

Jerami Grant made only one of two freeasts, but George missed a 3-point at the summer to win the Portland victory.

George finished with 21 points from the bench for Utah, which lost for the sixth time in eight matches.
