Malik Monk scored 28 points, Zach Lavine added 23, and Sacramento Kings snapped a four-game losing line with a victory 132-122 over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
Demar Derozan had 22 points and nine assists for Sacramento (34-33), which was led by as many as 21 during the fourth quarter and never dragged after moving forward late in the first quarter.
Keegan Murray added 16 points and 10 returns to help Kings win the season series against Memphis 2-1. Jake Laravia added 12 points from the bench against her former team.
The kings resist a season’s high 44-point performance from Desmond Bane, who shot 15-AV-25 from the field and 7-7 from 3-point intervals. Brandon Clarke added 15 points, Jaylen Wells got 14, and Jaren Jackson Jr. And Zach Edey had 12 points per piece.
The short-handed grizzlies (43-26) played without yes morant (left hamstring tenderness), Santi Aldama (calf) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (sore left wrist).
Memphis could not slow down the kings, who shot 52.3 percent from the field and 20 out of 41 (48.8 percent) from 3-point intervals.
Sacramento set the tone early and led 37-26 at the end of the first period after ending on a 16-4 run.
Kings wore speed in the second quarter and stretched his lead to 59-44 after Murray converted a three-point game with 2:26 left in half.
Lavine met a 3-pointer at the summer to end half and give Sacramento a 65-54 advantage.
The Sacramento Center is referenced by Sabonis straight to the dressing room after injuring its right ankle early in the third quarter. He did not return.
Bane met a 3-pointer to reduce the deficit to 75-71 by 8:39 in the third quarter before Sacramento quickly regained a two-digit lead.
The kings led 98-86 at the end of the third period and extended the lead to 114-94 at Laravia’s 3-pointer with 7:51 left in the game.
