South Carolina extends coach Shane Beamer until 2030

Shane Beamer gets a contract extension that will keep him as a football coach in South Carolina during the 2030 season.

The University announced Friday that the Board approved the extension, but financial conditions were not released.

Per USA Today database about coaches’ salary, made Beamer $ 6,375 million in 2024 and placed him 14th among the Southeastern Conference’s 16 coaches.

“The culture and commitment to excellence that coach Beamer has built in our football program shows that we are heading in the right direction and on a strong upward track,” said the athletic director Jeremiah Donati. “Coach Beamer has clarified his desire to be at the University of South Carolina and this extension shows our collective support for him as leader of our football program.”

Beamer is 29-22 in its four seasons with Gamecocks and has led them to three bowl games. His winnings include victories over a trio of national championship coach: Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney and Mack Brown.

Gamecocks was 9-4 (5-3 sec) last season and was ranked as No. 19 in the last Associated Press Top 25 survey.

“As I have said before, this is my dream job,” said Beamer, 47. “My family and I love to be here. We have achieved a lot on and outside the field for the past four years, but we are not satisfied. There is more to do and we have just got started. ”

Gamecocks are scheduled to open the 2025 season on August 31 against Virginia Tech in Atlanta.
