Leo Carlsson gets twice when ducks take down the bruins

Leo Carlsson published his second multi-goal performance in the last four games, which led the Anaheim Ducks to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Boston Bruins on Wednesday evening.

Carlsson scored goals during the first and third periods for Ducks (31-32-8, 70 points), which put the game away for a three-goal second and improved to 2-1-1 in his last four matches.

Anaheim’s Jackson Lacombe had a goal and an assist, while Nikita Nesterenko, Mason Mctavish and Cutter Gauthier also scored, and Alex Killorn had a couple of assists.

John Gibson made 23 rescues, including 15 during the third period.

Morgan Geekie recorded a goal and an assist, David Pastrnak also counted, and Joonas Korpisalo stopped 31 shots for Boston (30-34-9, 69 points), which is on a seven-game ski (0-6-1).

The ducks blitzade Korpisalo with the first 15 period and took a 1-0 lead when Carlsson finished Alex Killorn’s backhand-sat passes a 2-against-1 rush for a short-handed goal at the ground 17:33.

Korpisalo made one of its best rescues 4:29 in and denied a hard Gauthier -wrist shot between the circles before Carlsson died rebound just from close range.

Gibson pressed his pillows against the post to stop Bruins Rookie Fabian Lysell’s backhand attempt for his first NHL goal at the last minute of the period and denied Geekie’s one-hour from the track five minutes into the other.

Nesterenko doubled the Anaheim lead at 13:58, competed for a puck that went out of the Boston zone and drove to the net for a rebound goal that declined defender Michael Callahan and in when he was called a penalty.

Pastrnak broke Boston’s sex games, power-play-points dry with a high-wrist warm from the right side with 3:40 left in the other.

However, the ducks responded with two insurance cases in 48 seconds to take 4-1 lead to the second interruption. After a bad breakout pass, Anaheim’s zone time kept going, Lacombes attempts to lobby the puck over the net bounced in off zacha in front with 2:03 left.

The second quick -burning goal came from Gauthier, who picked up the puck after the Killorn’s Forcheck and hit a quick shot from near the end line on the left.

Carlsson added Duck’s advantage at 4:02 of the third and snapped Lacombe’s centering pass from the ice.

After eavesdropping a defensive zone pass, Mctavish rushed down the left side and snapped a high shot past Korpisalo at 12:25. Geekie got one back 21 seconds later for Bruins and put in a Zacha feed.
