Jon Rahm handles the blue monster this week as he prepares to chase a second green jacket.

The Spanjolen spoke to reporters Wednesday before Liv Golf Miami tournament at Trump National Doral, which got its colorful nickname for its demanding 7,701 farm length and abundant water hazards.

“Of course, Augusta is a completely different level and that is the blue monster, but that’s why I like this week,” Rahm said. “It’s such a good prep for a big one that comes up. I’m looking forward to this week to hopefully see some of these improvements and come in next week with a clear mind for what to do.”

Rahm, 30, has finished top six in each of the first four events in the Liv Golf calendar, including a T2 at the season opening tournament in Riyadh. The Legion XIII captain is ranked as No. 2 in the individual position behind Chiles Joaquin Niemann, while his team is ranked as No. 2 behind Fireball’s GC.

“I’m fine, yes,” he said. “I have been able to have a very good finish, but I would say that it has not been what I would consider playing my best. I think I have done really well but with a little discomfort in some parts of my game that I kind of need to get over to achieve bigger things, right, especially to talk about big championships.

“I think I’m very close to it if not over it. I particularly believe in recent weeks, I have played really good golf and feel really comfortable.”

Rahm band for fourth on Miami last year and finished 8-under couples and three strokes behind the winner Dean Burmester, who defeated Sergio Garcia in a playoffs.

Rahm goes to Augusta next week for Masters, where he followed up his victory in 2023 with a disappointing tie for 45th place last year.

Although he has not won a tournament since Liv Golf Chicago in September, the twice large winner (2021 US Open) is not briefly on trust.

“I’m always completely blind to my abilities,” Rahm said. “I think we all up here, every time we tee up, we think we will win, and that is why they have achieved a lot of what they have and everything they have. I look forward to seeing the changes I talk about that have been there in the better and a half years, I just haven’t got it.”
