Cristiano Ronaldo Has been tipped to buy a football club when he retires from football – with Wrexham specifically mentioned. Ronaldo, 40 years in February, and still aims to play at the World Cup 2026 in the United States.
He was the world’s best goal scorer – among selected top – 2023 for Al Nassr and continues to play for the Saudi Pro League club.
Ronaldo has kept his cards near the chest when he will exactly choose to retire from football, although a final World Cup – at what stage he will be 41 – may be the end point of his career.
He has previously said that he does not plan to come to the lead or coaching. But he has now been tipped to buy a football club when he hangs his boots.
Ronaldo’s business interests at Wrexham
Former Premier League midfielder Andy Townsend says Ronaldo could “probably” buy Wrexham And have Ryan Reynolds and Rob Melhenney as their drivers if he wanted to.
He told Boylesports: “Cristiano Ronaldo could probably buy Wrexham and have Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney as their drivers, If he wanted to ”.

Townsend believes that Ronaldo would potentially decide to return to English football to run a club after two magic formulas with Manchester United.
“I could see him buy a football club, maybe in football league,” he continued. “Because he loves the game and I think he would back himself to run a club. I could really see it.”
Ronaldo has previously stated his desire to buy and run “several football clubs” and tells Portuguese Outlet Canal 11 in an interview published February 2025: “If I can be a club owner, why would I be amaNager, sports director or CEO? “
