Washington Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas is considered week to week with a lower bodily injury, head coach Spencer Carbery announced Sunday.
Protas was hit by the injury when a skate cut in the foot during the third period of Capital’s 5-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. He has been excluded from Washington’s game against New York Islanders in Elmont, NY, on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Belarus natives have registered career high totals in goal (30), Assists (36) and points (66) in addition to their best plus-40 rating.
Protas has a total of 119 points (43 goals, 76 assists) in 245 career games since Washington chose him in the third round of the NHL draft 2019.
