Sacramento Kings will be without guard Malik Monk for the remaining three matches in the regular season and into the mail season because of a left veal stam, ESPN reported on Wednesday evening.
Monk, 27, will be evaluated in two weeks, according to the report, covering King’s entry into the Play-in tournament. Sacramento (39-40) is ninth in the Western Conference position.
He was injured during the first quarter by Sacramento’s road victory at 127-117 over the Detroit Pistons on Monday. He had two points and an assist in six minutes.
Monk is already excluded from Wednesday’s game against the visiting Denver Nuggets because of the left calf’s tenderness in the NBA damage report. The king ends the regular season with home games Friday against Los Angeles Clippers and Sunday against Phoenix Suns.
He is an average of 17.2 points, 3.8 returns, 5.6 assists and 31.6 minutes in 65 matches (45 starts) this season. He makes 32.5 percent of his 3-point attempts and 86.5 percent of his poor shots.
For his career, Monk is an average of 12.3 points, 2.6 returns, 3.2 assists and 22.8 minutes in 523 matches (83 starts) with Charlotte Hornets (2017-21), Los Angeles Lakers (2021-22) and Kings (2022 present).
Sacramento announced on Wednesday signing the guard Terence Davis, who was with the Wisconsin crew in the G League. He was an average of 14.3 points, 4.7 returns, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 26.4 minutes in 30 matches.
Davis, 27, has an average of 8.0 points, 2.7 returns, 1.3 assists and 16.1 minutes in 227 NBA games (24 starts) for Toronto Raptors (2019-21) and Kings (2021-23).
