MLB Over/Under Best Bet: Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds, April 12

Finally we get a break. The fun with rain -shifted games is that they can eliminate various bets involved in the procedure. For an over/during venture, it must generally go a full nine rounds (or 8.5 if the home team wins) for the effort to have action, even if it is already sailed in addition to the total (to prevent people from blindly betting over each time, the guaranteed bad weather is likely to end the game prematurely).

So despite the evening’s venture being at 10 runs, the game beat it for everyone (and, to Chagrin of Giants Bettors, runline kits were also wiped out). We’ll take it.

Saturday’s total takes us to another Cincinnati Reds game and continues its three-game set with the division’s Rival Pittsburgh Pirates. The Red got the home ‘W’ in tonight’s series opener.

There will be a more interesting match of pitching on hand for the second meeting, see the new Bucs channel Andrew Heaney who takes on season-debutar Andrew Abbott.

The first thing to stand out directly is the fact that both starters are left -handed. Why is this a crucial component, you ask?

Well both teams stink against Southpaws – at least in the beginning.

The reds have been absolutely terrible with a left on Haugen. They have handled a pathetic .142/.240/.248 slash, ranked them as others from the bottom in baseball in all three categories of team batting average, base percent and sluggish percentage.

Not only that, Redlegs also knocks out a high clip and goes down via K 33 times in 113 bats. It is once almost every third ABS when you are facing a left hand.

At the same time, Pittsburgh has not managed much better in this department. Their .196 Slag average against left is ranked 24th Majors, while the club’s .536 Ops ranks them 27th. During the process, the pirates have made only four extra base hits, which bind them to the smallest in MLB with Baltimore Orioles.

In addition, Oneil Cruz is preferably the most explosive hitting in the lineupen-0-for-11 when facing a Southpaw. He has usually fought such jugs in his young career.

Now to use only two reliable left -handers for such an attack and that seems to be the case with this particular billing.

Before I go into analyzing Heaney, I have to admit that it is definitely a little bias. He has been one of my favorite pots since he debuted in 2014 (a 1-0 duel against Zack Wheeler in Miami, by the way!).

However, there may be legitimate evidence to believe that Heaney is on the verge of the Renaissance late in his career. And it’s not as if he fought in his recent time with Texas Rangers. He was a large part of their championship’s conquest two years ago, not only by hitting them into the playoffs on the very last day of the campaign but also getting through after season-people forgets he started And won A World Series game!

The veteran, also known as Heandog, is looking for a great start in his new excavations. Yes, there have only been two starts, but they have both been very encouraging, especially the last time when he held the mighty Yankees to only one run over seven sharp innings and knocks out 10!

Heaney succeeds right now may be the result of some new things he does. For example, in the aforementioned starter opposite the Bronx bomb plans, the 33-year-old deployed his curve ball more, even noted five KS with one pitch for the first time in five seasons.

There was also much heavier use of his lowering. After throwing only ten of them combined from 2020-24, he fired seven of that height alone in his last excursion.

Add to his confidence in a temporary side arm delivery and it is obvious that Heaney has made some remarkable adjustments that can continue his current success. I have personally seen him for a long time as one of the best active players in the game that has never been named an all-star (injuries definitely had an impact on that too). Ask, maybe?

The counterpart, Andrew Abbott, makes his first start to the year after getting a bit of a late start in the spring. It bumped him to Triple a little before returning to the show.

Abbott’s number in the two smaller leagues was nothing special, but he is just one of the guys who benefits from being at the highest level and needs the extra intensity he gets to succeed. Smaller league matches do not charge it from someone like Abbott, who has already succeeded with the Big-League Club.

Remember that the third-year starter was excellent as soon as he arrived and published a sub-3.00 era in his first 14 career start. A year ago, more quality work from Abbott also produced before he gave in to a shoulder injury.

Both guys can be on their game tonight with weak crimes opposite left -wing pitching on their plate.
