New York Rangers star Artemi Panarin and Madison Square Garden Sports paid financial settlements last year to a former team employee who made allegations of sexual abuse against forward, Athletic reported Thursday.

The report, with reference to the NHL and Law Sources, said that the alleged attack occurred during a car trip in December 2023. The accuser left Rangers in August 2024 after reaching settlements that included a non-disclosure agreement and no recognition of errors by Panarin, 33.

The woman reportedly reached two non -revealed settlements, one with Panarin and the other with Msg Sports, the company that owns the hockey team.

According to the report, the woman was a regular member of Rangers’ traveling party. Panarin took off her phone at a collection after the game and said she could only pick it up by coming to her hotel room. When she went to his room, the sources said that Panarin attached her down to the bed before she could shoot him away, pick up her phone and leave the room.

Neither Panarin nor his agent responded to requests from Athletic for comments.

“The goal has been resolved,” read a statement from an MSG -Sport spokesman.

The accuser, who was not identified with names as an alleged victim of sexual abuse, also said “the matter has been resolved.”

The NHL sent an e -mail message to the athletic that acknowledged the situation: “The club retained an external law firm to conduct an independent investigation, which the league was completely appreciated. We believe the matter is closed.”

The league and Rangers refused to reveal if Panarin had met any discipline.

Panarin, which was named the team’s MVP for the season 2024-25 on Wednesday, leads Rangers with 89 points (37 goals, 52 assists) in 79 matches played this season. New York has been eliminated from the playoffs and will end the regular season at home on Thursday evening against Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Russian-born Panarin, which is a four times All-Star, has registered 870 points (302 goals, 568 assists) in 751 matches with Chicago Blackhawks (2015-17), Columbus Blue Jackets (2017-19) and Rangers.
