Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani off the paternity list, back in the lineup

Los Angeles Dodgers reintroduced star Shohei Ohtani from the paternity list on Sunday and appointed excursion Eddie Rosario for assignments.

The move comes one day after Ohtani announced that he and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, welcomed a girl. He also texted Dodger’s manager Dave Roberts on Saturday and said he would join the team in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday for the series finale against Rangers.

He was in the lineup on Sunday and hit the management site.

Ohtani went on the paternity list Friday waiting for birth.

After Sunday’s series finale, Los Angeles is off on Monday and opens a two -game road set against Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.

Ohtani, 30, beats .288 with six homers in 20 matches this season, but has hit only eight runs and got 21.

The three times MVP is in its eighth season and won its first two MVP awards with Los Angeles Angels. He joined Dodgers before last season and has 231 career females in 895 matches.

Rosario, 33, went 1-for-4 in two matches this season.

Rosario has a .261 career average with 169 Homers and 583 RBI in 1,123 matches with Minnesota Twins (2015-20), Cleveland Guardians (2021), Atlanta Braves (2021-23, 2024) and Washington National (2024). He beat .339 with two homers and 12 RBI in 14 matches at Triple-A Oklahoma City before he was called.
