Both Cal Raleigh and Rowdy Tellez met two-run home and visitors Seattle Mariners defeated Toronto Blue Jays 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.
Dylan Moore added a solo shot for Seattle in the rubber match in a three-game series.
Tellez, a former Blue Jay, had three home purchases in the series.
Tyler Heineman had three hits for Toronto on Sunday.
Moore greeted the left-hander Easton Lucas (2-2) with his fifth Homer of the season to open the first, a shot to the left of a 1-1 sweeper. Julio Rodriguez doubled the left field wall and Raleigh loft a 2-1 shooting control to the left for his ninth Homer of the season.
Raleigh has 11 career females against Toronto, 10 in regular season. He knocked out in each of his next four bats on Sunday. Seattle beat out 18 times
Seattle doubled the lead in the other. Ben Williamson went and Leo Rivas singled. The runners advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Randy Arozarenas two-out single, a line drive over a short stop. Mitch Garver founded an RBI single in the middle.
Paxtton Schultz, promoted from Triple-A Buffalo, replaced Lucas to make his Major League debut. All five of Lucas outs were on strikes. He allowed six runs, seven hits and two walks.
Schultz finished 4 1/3 rounds with eight strikes and matched a team record for a Major League debut.
Seattle Right Hander Luis Castillo (2-2) was shaky, which enabled two other rounds. Addison Barger led with a double down to the right field line and will have Wagner single. Heineman’s bouncer became an RBI Infield single when Castillo died it. Bo Bichette stroked an RBI single. The inning ended on the Arrozaren’s sliding catch near the left field line with the bases loaded.
Toronto did in the third when George Springer led with a double from the left field wall and scored on Nathan Luke’s base -loaded sacrificial fly to the middle.
Castillo allowed three runs, 10 hits and two walks with five strikes in five rounds.
Garver singled and Tellez hammered to the right as a pinch of hits in the seventh against Dillon Tate, also promoted from Buffalo on Sunday.
Toronto put his right hand Nick Sandlin (right lat-strain) on the injured list and appointed the right hand Jacob Barnes for assignment.
