Abdul Carter went to social media Monday afternoon to manifest himself as the total election no. 1 in the draft NFL 2025.
The first round of the draft is exactly one month away. After a very successful career in Penn State, Carter is lined up to be the best defensive line selected.
“Don’t let all this QB need to talk to fool you,” Carter said. “It is already known who is the best, and no QB is in that discussion! As I said, the best player goes number 1.”
Inspired by this social media post, it is worthwhile to investigate whether Carter has a legitimate chance of becoming the best player chosen in April’s draft.
Tennessee Titans has no. 1 Overall choice, and despite Carter’s theory that the best player is going # 1, there is a desperate need for a quarterback in Nashville.
The Titans lost Mason Rudolph in free agency to Pittsburgh Steelers, but they did not do exactly a struggle to keep him. They still have Will Levis on the guard list, but he was so ineffective that the Titans were forced to patch up their quarterback room – and that was what landed them the total choice in the first place.
Some believed that the titans could strive for a top-agent-quarter back like Sam Darnold or Aaron Rodgers. That has not been the case, since Darnold signed a great time with the Seattle Seahawks and Rodgers probably seem to end up with Steelers. The titans are also not said to be in the Mix for Russell Wilson.
While the new Titan Director General Mike Borgonzi has done a good job of keeping his cards near the chest, consensus from national football publications and journalists in recent weeks seems to have Cam Ward as no. 1 Total choice in this class.
It is not to say that things cannot change. Perhaps the Titans have done an incredible job of setting up a smoke screen about their interest in Ward and actually see Carter.
But their actions suggest something else.
This season they have done an impressive job that reinforced their offensive line by securing veterans in free agency like Dan Moore and Kevin Zeitler. They have also added long -term veteran -backup -quarterback Brandon Allen, who is aware of head coach Brian Callahan from his time with Cincinnati Bengals.
While Carter and Colorado’s Travis Hunter are probably the best players in the upcoming draft, we know that this league puts a premium on Quarterbacks. And the Titans have not had a good for a very long time.
It’s good that Carter thinks he is the best player in this year’s draft. He has college statistics, CVs and film to back it up. But all characters point to the titans who choose Ward – unless a big surprise occurs in exactly one month.
