Affinity CEO is discussing plans for Primm Casino Properties | Casinos and games

The best CEO of Affinity Interactive has told Nevada Gaming Regulators that his company wants to move their casino properties in Primm from destinations to a travel course for southern Californians who go to Las Vegas.

Longtime Gaming Industry Executive Scott Butera, which will show up for the Nevada Gaming Commission next week for licensing as head of affinity and a finding of suitability as an officer and key employee, Nevada Gaming Control Board told us that his company looks at how it can best position Sig for the coming years.

“Primm is a very special place,” Butera said at the Control Board February 12. “Primm has been around for decades. It was the gateway to Las Vegas for people traveling from Los Angeles. It was originally designed to be a destination for that community. Now there are many casinos (tribal and short rooms) in Los Angeles and in Nevada, obviously. So the idea is to basically move Primm. “

Butera said that Primm’s biggest asset is to have 50,000 cars pass every day at Interstate 15. The city at the California limit is about 45 minutes drive from Las Vegas.

“So how can we create an experience that is highest and best used for a more short -term society than a more destination society?” he said.

“We will expand our travel center companies that will once again meet that society,” he said. “We look at options for food and drink. We have replaced about 12 percent of our slot machines there. Our company as a whole has about 3,200 slot machines. We have replaced about 400 of them as part of a new plan to revive the properties. “

Massive sign

To pay attention to the company, the company builds a new marker.

“If you drive at it, you can see that there is construction of what will be a 100-foot-60-foot mark sign that will help to pay attention to the property and bring people in,” he said.

Butera said that Affinity is considerably to its management team.

“We have added positions that previously did not exist as game manager. We have added player development positions, new marketing positions, business intelligence positions. So we are undergoing a pretty change, all for the better, he said.

Butera began his career as an investment banks in 1992. Many of his customers were affiliated with gaming companies, which pulled him into the industry. During his career, he had executive roles with Trump Entertainment Resorts, Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Tropicana Entertainment Inc., Foxwood’s Resort Casino in Connecticut, MGM Resorts International and Fubo Gaming.

At Fubo, his emphasis was on sports and when he first arrived in affinity he took over the daily racing form, a publication founded more than 100 years ago that analyzes horse results. During his time at MGM, he was with the company’s interactive group that developed the foundation for what is now Betmgm.

He also served three years as Commissioner for Arena Football League.

In April, he was appointed president and CEO of Affinity, who also owns and operates Silver Sevens in Las Vegas as well as Buffalo Bill’s and Primadonna in Primm. In December, a third Primm property, whiskey Pete’s, was closed so that the company could focus on other resources.

The supervisory authorities asked Butera about the company that offers discounted hotel rooms under Southern California’s fires.

“Of course, we were quite moved by what happened in southern California,” Butera said. “It was obviously quite tragic and devastating. So whatever we could do to help that community, we offered discounted prices. And also, we waived all fees associated with pets. You know, many families when they are expelled from their homes obviously have pets to take care of. I have two dogs. I love them more than anything in the world. So, you know, it was an amazing thing we could do and we were happy that people came and took advantage of it. “

Butera said that affinity controls about 15 of the 200 acres that make up Primm.

“We have a good relationship with the Primm family, which owns the majority of the country out there,” he said. “We work very well with the family, and the whole idea is how can we place PrimM to take advantage of what will happen in the next ten years. What you now see type of harkens to the last two decades. And now we are looking at what we do to make it better for the next and the coming decades. “

Close to planned airport

The long -term future for PrimM is that it will be close to the southern Nevada Additional Airport, which is expected to be built between Jean and Primm and open in 2037.

Buffalo Bill’s has some attractions that have created interest over the years. It is home to Despado, once the highest mountain and roller coaster in the world. The property also has the 6,500-seat star in the desert arena, which has a variety of entertainment.

A shopping center on Primm Properties closed, but people still reach PrimM when California’s lottery jackpots hits high levels. Primm extends over the California-Nevada State Line and a convenience store on California’s side of the line is thriving shops for lottery ticket sales when the jackpot floats.

Buffalo Bill’s also shows the car where notorious forbidden Bonnie and Clyde Barrow Dog. Regulators asked Butera about the car.

“It’s at Primm in Buffalo Bills,” he said. “It’s pretty cool. It has many bullet holes in it. “
