Anne-Marie goes full Savage at Breakup Anthems I ‘Act II’

Anne-Marie is not here for polite ballads after breakup and her latest 2-track project ACT II: If you are looking for a reason to key your exs car proves it. Dropped April 11 via Warner Records, the British pop power plant takes a blowtorch to exer, regret and all remaining heart damage.

This is the second part of her ongoing series “IF You looking to …” (which started in February with Act I: If you are looking for a new best friend), and while the first act leaned to friendship and cheeky freedom, Act II Is pure chaos – but makes it catartic.

Anne-Marie Unleashes Act II: If you are looking for a reason to key your ex's car-a bold, 2-track division EP packed with raw feelings and revenge-pop heat.

The leading single “That’s What You Get” is a guitar-nerd, emotionally charged Hymne who hits as a late night’s voice message that you should not send but absolutely would. Made by Mojam (known for work with Sam Smith and Emeli Sandé), channels the track the raw rage and twisted hope that Karma will turn on your ex’s door and experience the consequences of their actions.

At the same time, “knock knock” is even more unfiltered. A punchy, high tempo lane with sardonic humor, it closes the emotional loop with a choir that hits like a bang: “Knock knock, who is there? / Well, I’m not f ** king care.” Co-written with Roxam Brennan and produced by Billen Ted, it is Anne-Marie on her most unpologet self!

In their own words: “The only good thing about being robbed in relationships is being able to write songs about it,” she says. “So here is to all the things we wish we could have told our exer that we didn’t get the chance to say.”

Where Act i Gave us SASS (“I don’t like your boyfriend” got viral for a reason, gathered over 5 million currents and 171 million views over social), Act II Offers the emotional grenade. The accompanying images match the mood-stripped, wild and heavy-in-cheek at once. This is not just a heart damage. It is Anne-Marie who throws the first punch in a fighting pop music has been too polite to choose recently.

So if you are looking for a reason to finally block that number or scream-sing you through a division, think about this as your clue.
