Anthony Edwards scored 49 points and took nine returns when Minnesota Timberwolves retired for a victory 127-108 over Chicago Bulls on Wednesday in Minneapolis.
Naz Reid recorded 22 points and 10 returns for Minnesota, which snapped a two-game skid. Rudy Gobert picked up 10 points and 15 returns, and Jaden McDaniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker each scored 12 points.
Coby White scored 20 points to lead the bulls, who played at a short rest after hitting the visiting Miami Heat one night earlier. Josh Giddey finished with 19 points, and Nikola Vucevic listed 10 points and 11 boards.
Chicagos Jalen Smith and Matas Buzelis logged 14 points per piece, Ayo Dosunmu contributed 11, and Jevon Carter had 10.
Minnesota shot 42.9 percent (42 out of 98) from the field and 42.6 percent (20 out of 47) from 3-point intervals. Chicago dropped 48.2 percent (40 out of 83) in total and 33.3 percent (12 out of 36) beyond the arch.
Timberwolves exceeded Bulls 33-18 during the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Minnesota led by four points entering the final frame.
Edwards sometimes want their team. He had 19 points at half before exploding for 20 points during the third quarter and 10 more during the fourth quarter.
The star guard shot 13 out of 28 from the field, 6 out of 14 beyond the arch and 17 out of 18 from the free throw line. He fell four points without matching his career loudly, sat January 4 at Detroit.
Edwards met a 3-pointer to tie the match 82-82 with 3:51 to go during the third quarter. He converted three -point games 24 seconds later to put Minnesota on top.
During the fourth quarter, Edward’s Minnesota gave a two -digit lead with another three -point game. He made a driving arrangement, pulled a foul and sank a free throw to put Timberwolves up 111-99 with 6:29 to go.
Minnesota stormed to 27-6 lead in the first seven points. Mike Conley made a 3-pointer with 5:56 to go during the first quarter, and at the next possession he helped a jump shot by McDaniels to increase Timberwolve’s lead to 21.
The Bulls fought back with a 10-0 driving to reduce the deficit to 27-16.
At half time, Chicago had climbed within 62-60.
