Houston Astro’s first bass man Christian Walker is excluded from Wednesday’s spring training game against St. Louis Cardinals due to left oblique tenderness.

Jon Singleton replaced him in the starting lineup in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Astros signed Free Agent Walker, 33, to a three -year, $ 60 million contract in December. He missed about a month last season with Arizona Diamondbacks, left a game on July 29 and returned to the Lineup on September 3 due to a left oblique tribe.

He also spent two separate stints on the damaged list in 2021 due to a strained right oblique.

Walker had 26 home races with 84 RBI and a .803 OPS in 130 games last season, when he won his third National League Gold Glove Award in a row. It came a year after he met 33 home shopping with a career best 103 RBI and a .830 OPS in 157 games with regular season while helping Diamondbacks to a World Series Kaj.

Walker has a fourth round of selection of Baltimore Orioles in the 2012 draft, Walker has 147 home races and 443 RBI with a .793 OPS in 832 matches during 10 large league seasons.
