Barcelona vs. Osasuna La Liga Match Shut off due to Force Majeure

Barcelona was set to host Osasuna at Matchday 27 in the La Liga season 2024-25, and aimed to solidify its position at the top of the table. But less than 30 minutes before the kickoff, the match was officially canceled because of Force Majeure.

According to Dazn, a member suddenly died of Barcelona’s medical staff this afternoon, just hours before Kickoff. In light of the tragic event, the Barcelona players requested the suspension itself, which was subsequently granted.

Shortly after the announcement, Barcelona released a statement that expressed his deep sadness that the first team’s doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia, who was 40 years old. Miñarro had been to the club since 2017 and originally worked with Barcelona’s futsal team before joining the first team’s staff this season.

Both Osasuna and La Liga also issued statements that gave their deepest condolences to Miñarro’s family, friends and Barcelona staff and expressed solidarity during this difficult time.
