Bengal’s defensive ending Trey Hendrickson was allowed to seek a trade one year after Cincinnati Front Office shot down the same request.
Hendrickson, 30, led the NFL with 17.5 bags in 2024 and has one year left on a contract extension which he signed in 2023 with a Bassalay Bassalay for 2025.
As part of a trade, Hendrickson is expected to sign a new contract given the lack of negotiations helped to get his latest demand.
Raiders defensive ending Maxx Crosby signed a record three -year, $ 106.5 million contract extension with Las Vegas announced on Wednesday in the latest signal where the market could be led to Premium Pass Rusher. Crosby, 27, has 22 total bags in the last two seasons.
Cincinnati fished to hold Hendrickson, said human resources manager Duke Tobin last week, who was named first team all-pro last season and has a league-high 35 sacks since the beginning of the season 2023. During four seasons with the Bengals, Hendrickson played 57 bags and 11 forced fumbles.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to represent Cincinnati over the past four years,” Hendrickson told a statement on Thursday to ESPN. “I love this city and the organization. I appreciate the privilege of now being able to explore my options.”
Hendrickson had 61 quarterback-haunting in the last two seasons and recorded 13-plus bags for four of the last five seasons.
If the Bengals act hendrickson, they will have to replace their starting fensive ends from last season. Sam Hubbard, 29, retired earlier this week.
Several teams have been connected to Hendrickson rumors due to existing connections. Chicago Bears, who previously employs Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, is on the market for a pass Rusher. Hendrickson spent the first four years of his career with the saints. He could also be a goal for Indianapolis Colts, who hired Lou Anarumo as the defensive coordinator. Anarumo was Bengal’s defensive coordinator for the past four seasons.
