Best NCAA tournament of the first round of Moneyline initiatives: Underdog upset to look at

The NCAA tournament tips Thursday, and everyone climbs to lock their Parlays and fill in their brackets.

New Mexico ML vs. Marquette

Shaka Smart’s Marquette Squad had an impressive season with victories over then no. 6 Purdue and then no. 11 Wisconsin. As no 7 seeds, they are small favorites in their first round of matchup with New Mexico on Friday afternoon.

But lobosis is nothing to spit on. Both teams have stellar guard games, but New Mexico is not the type that lights you at a distance. They move the ball and find the best shot-fäven if it is an unpopular mid-range.

If New Mexico’s defense shows up, they can get money on +145.

Akron ML vs. Arizona

Let’s save the craziest at last. Akron Zips will travel across the country to play a much better Arizona team in Seattle on Friday night.

Akron barely won the Mid-American Conference Championship game against Miami (Ohio), and patted back from a two-digit deficit in the last minute to hit his ticket to march Madness on a Flukey game-winning arrangement.

Arizona is the better team and deserves to be a favorite of 15.5 points. But Zips has been a dominant team in recent seasons under head coach John Groce.

At +680, a consistent, steady program may only be worth a pizza money.
