Best Sports Game Selection Today: College Basketball Preferences for February 22

There are very good college basketball at the dock for Saturday; Lots of exciting games and I want to include as many as I can on our list of best bets for the day. So let’s not waste any time and get it right.

The following bets are not guaranteed winners, but they qualify as my best bets for Saturday, February 22.

Best bets for Feb 22: NCAAM

Tennessee vs. Texas A&M

SEC is full of fantastic basketball teams this season, and No. 6 Tennessee (21-5, 8-5) and No. 7 Texas A & M (20-6, 9-4) are two of the best. Tennessee has one of the country’s best defense (no. 4); Texas A&M is No. 32 in the country but the second best in Sec to Tennessee.

Both are 4-1 in their last five matches. Texas A&M lost to Mississippi State and Tennessee lost to Kentucky. I lean towards Tennessee winning directly, but I bet both defenses play well. Tipoff is 12 o’clock.

Our choice: Under 130.5 on -105 (Draftkings)

Iowa State vs. Houston

Right about the time that Tennessee and Texas A&M ends, No. 8 Iowa State (21-5, 11-4) and no. Houston (22-4, 14-1) will get started at 14.

The dynamics here are interesting. Houston has No. 1 defense in the country (57.6 points per allowed game). But their last six opponents did everyone more. Iowa State has the fourth best defense in Big 12 (no. 51), but they also have the second best crime (no. 29).

Houston will hold Iowa State crime in check, but their crime is not good enough to cover a 12.5 point spread against a good cyclone defense.

Georgia vs. Auburn

Hmmm … How will this game go between Georgia (16-10, 4-9) and the No. 1 team in the country, Auburn (24-2, 12-1)? If you focus on Bulldogs’ 2-8 driving in the last ten matches, the answer seems clear-Auburn will ruin these guys. But will they cover?

Your gut probably says “yes” because the bulldogs are fighting, and the tigers are the No 1 team in the country. But Auburn beat Georgia with just one basket earlier in the season (70-68 on January 18). The tigers have not made teams of big numbers lately.

Georgia hit only two of her last ten opponents with 17.5+ points. They will win this game easily but do not expect them to cover (the playing time is 16:00 et).

Our choice: Georgia +17.5 on -110 (betmgm)

Florida against LSU

LSU (14-12, 3-10) took his seven-game losing line to an end to Valentine’s Day and followed it up with another victory, this one against South Carolina. Starting today, they go into a five-match horror. All five matches are against ranked teams, three in the top ten starts with No. 2 Florida (23-3, 10-3).

Gators have been on their way since their surprising loss to Tennessee on February 1 (64-44). I just don’t see how LSU can keep up with them, even with the support of a home crowd. Tipoff is at 6 pm.

Our choice: Florida -10 on -110 (Caesars)

Duke against Illinois

No. 3 Duke bounced back from a new loss to Clemson, 77-71, with a trio of dominant winnings (with 21, 36 and 18 points). Illinois enters this game after losing two in a row and with a list that is far from healthy. If Fighting Illini was healthy and close to full strength, they can have a chance (the game starts at 20).
