Best Sports Game Selection Today: College Basketball Preferences for February 26

Athletic Excellence in Sec is as widespread in men’s basketball as in football. In the latest AP survey, eight Sec teams are in the top 25, with four in the top six -which makes the conference a key focus for our list of “Best bets for Wednesday 26 February.”

Best bets for February 26: Ole Miss vs. Auburn

Ole Miss started a hot start this season at 15-2, including a victory over then no. 4 Alabama. But then things fell apart, with the rebels who lost six of their next ten matches, including their last two. Auburn came back on the right track after his surprising loss for Florida a couple of weeks ago and won four in a row.

However, the tigers were 1-3 against the spread in these games because they were sub-dogs against Alabama and won. Auburn is 12-1 at home, while Ole Miss has gone 2-7 ATS in his last nine matches and 1-3 on the road.

I’m not crazy about the spread, but Auburn stands out for the things that Ole Miss struggles with the most. The tigers will take advantage of these weaknesses on their way to a fleeting victory.

Vanderbilt vs. Texas A&M

Commodores stopped their three-game losing line last Saturday with a victory over Ole Miss. However, the victory was only Vanderbilt’s second in seven matches. Road games have not been friendly against Commodores – their only road victory in conference games came in their Sec opener against LSU in Baton Rouge.

They will meet a Texas A&M team that is desperate after a victory after losing their last two. Why the hurry? A loss would extend the losing line of the Aggies to three and put them in serious danger to stretch it to five, with upcoming matches in Florida and against No. 1 Auburn.

I can expect aggies to gather it for a winning home game before facing two top-three teams. But Vanderbilt is not a pushover and will fight. That said, I have some confidence in Commodores on the road.

Kentucky vs. Oklahoma

Conference games have been rough for The Sooners. After rolling through their non-conference schedule unbeaten (13-0), Oklahoma has struggled in Sec games and gone 4-10 with losing dash in four and five matches. The Sooners just snapped the five-game ski with a victory over the Mississippi State last Saturday.

Kentucky has been better in conference games but nothing special (7-7), and The Sooners may catch Wildcats at the right time. Kentucky has lost two of his last three and four of his last five road games.

It is a bit surprising that the line is so small. Kentucky has one of the best crimes in the country, while Oklahoma’s defense is at best mediocre.
