Best bets February 12: NBA
San Antonio Spurs vs. Boston Celtics
With Jrue Holiday and possibly Jaylen Brown Out, Boston should win this one. But they have not been the best at home this season. They actually have a better road record (22-6) than home (16-10 SU, 9-17 ATS (as a home favorite).
San Antonio gets better. Victor Wembanyama is an beast, Chris Paul is one of the best distributors that the game has ever seen, and De’aaron Fox will be better the more comfortable he gets with Spurs.
With full strength, Celtics covers this spread without thinking about it. But with the injuries they are dealing with and San Antonio’s improved program list, Spurs could keep this close.
Our choice: Spurs +8.5 (Fanduel)
Victor Wembanyama, below 23.5 points on -102
After a big game like what he just had against the magicians, Wembanyama tends to take a step back and produce less. Against a defense like Bostons, it is even more likely. I would not be shocked if they were to try to present Fox to give him more chance to acclimatize himself to his new team.
Victor Wembanyama, over 3.5 blocks of +114
Boston does not allow too many blocks (4.1 per match; bound for the second lowest per average). Wemby is on average 3.0 per match this month and 3.9 during the season and has had 4+ in two of its last three matches.
Asking for four is a lot, but if anyone can pull it off against Celtics, it’s Wembanyama.

Phoenix Suns vs. Houston Rockets
Houston returned home Sunday and took his six-game losing line to a 94-87 victory over Raptors. On the way into their Tuesday night against Grizzlies, Suns had lost five of his last seven.
Their primary question? Defense. In these seven matches, they gave up 120+ points per match and 129+ in the last three. Rocket’s crime is good enough to exploit Sun’s unhappy defense. But I wouldn’t expect a new night night again.
Our choices: Rockets -6.5 and above 223.5 (Fanduel)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors
Cleveland is one of the best teams in the NBA this season and the owner of No. 2 points break in the NBA (122.5 points per match). They have won seven of their last eight games and are currently enjoying a three-game victory.
Toronto had dropped four in a row before leaving 76ers Tuesday evening, 106-103. When they are hosting Cavs tonight, it will be their third game in four days and the second of a back-to-back. So they will not only be an unfortunate team facing one of NBA’s best, but a tired, unfortunate team facing one of NBA’s best.
Our choice: Cavaliers -13.5 (Caesar)
