The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) in Greece has granted Swedish online gaming and betting company Betsson licenses for both online casino and sports betting products and services.
In a press release on its website, Betsson announced that it will launch both casino and sports betting products under the Betsson name in the coming weeks.
The two licenses – one for casino games and slots, and another for sports betting – will be valid for an initial period of seven years
In the press release, Pontus Lindwall, President and CEO of Betsson AB, says:
“We are really excited to receive these licenses and to welcome Greece as Betsson’s 18th locally regulated market. As in other markets, our vision for Greece is to offer the best customer experience possible and we have partnered with some great game providers and payment providers for to expand our offer. The Greek gaming market has experienced significant growth in recent years, and we see a lot of potential”
The announcement is the latest development in Betsson’s efforts to expand into new markets and follows recent news that the company had acquired a 35 percent stake in the Strive platform to support its US launch.
