One Florida streets met another on the golf course on Thursday during the first round of Cognizant Classic in Palm beaches.
That’s right.
Billy Horschel, who went to the University of Florida, came within a few meters from the actual reptile as he walked towards the seventh hole in his opening round. Horschel bravely used his club to hunt streets from the fairway and back in the water.

“Yes, I’m not afraid of streets,” he said. “Listen, as I tell most people, I said, they are more afraid of you. The majority of the time they will only come after you during the mating season where they are a bit aggressive and then if you are around the nest when they have some eggs.
“Most of the time, they are good. I grew up with my dad grabbing the tail when they are on the side of the bank and shook them back in the water. I never touched a tail with my hand but I did it with a club. Not so big.”
It could have been – and Horschel knew it.
“The police who worked with us went there and tried Shoo (streets), but he had nothing to touch him and he tried to get as close as he could,” Horschel said. “It was either that someone would have to go up to No. 8 and take a rake or I was 30 meters away, 25 meters away, and I just took a club and went there and drove him away.
“Listen, he went nowhere well. So I just went there, helped the police. As (Cameron Young) said before I went there, he goes, what would he do, try to use a tazer on him? But I think he would have had to get a little close to it to try to do it effectively.”
Horschel, 38, did not seem to be dazzled by the event. He finished his round with a 5-under-pair 66.
