
Milwaukee Brewers All-Star-Catcher William Contreras agreed to one year’s business, $ 6.1 million on Friday to avoid payroll management, according to MLB.com.
The Contreras business includes a club option of $ 12 million for 2026 or a $ 100,000 purchase.
Contreras requested $ 6.5 million and the breweries counteracted $ 5.6 million.
Contreras, 27, has spent two seasons with the breweries and liked his best season last year when he fought .281 with career heights of 23 homers, 92 RBI and 99 runs. He made the National League All-Star team and ended up in fifth place in the MVP vote.
He was also an All-Star for Atlanta Brave’s 2022. Contreras were traded at the breweries after the season as part of a three-team trading which also included Oakland Athletics.
Overall, he beats .277 with 68 Homers and 239 RBI in 449 matches over parts of five seasons with Braves (2020-22) and Brewers.
