Browns QB Deshaun Watson on mission to prove doubt wrong

Cleveland Brown’s Quarterback Deshaun Watson, Centrum, poses for a portrait with general manager Andrew Berry, left, and coach Kevin Stefanski during Watson’s introductory news conference on March 26, 2022 at Brown’s Training Facility in Berea.

Deshaun Watson can miss part or all season 2025 and hear the whispers of his passing when doubt multiplies his ability to rediscover the form that tempted Cleveland Browns to acquire him from Houston Texans three years ago.

Watson is recovering from a couple of Achilles sensing within a period of less than four months. He played in 19 of possible 51 matches with Browns since he was acquired from Texans in March 2022, a deal that Cleveland did despite the Quarterbacken being accused of committing sexual irregularities by more than two dozen massage therapists in the Houston area.

Even Brown’s owner Jimmy Haslam went on the record last month to label the trade as a “swing and miss”, a great revelation given that it came from the individual approval of Watson’s controls.

Watson published a short video dealing with the doubters on Thursday.

“Everyone doubts me. Everyone doesn’t believe me,” Watson said in a video published on Instagram. “Everyone doesn’t think I can come back to where I was. But I know, and I think the work I put in, that I believe in myself. … I know, I will be better than before.”

Brown acquired Watson in exchange for first draft for the first round of 2022, 2023 and 2024, together with a 2023 third round and fourth round of pickings 2022 and 2024. In return, they received Watson-9-10 as a start with Browns and a 2024 sixth round.

Browns is finally back in the first round of the draft and holds the total election no. 2 in the draft on April 24. With only Watson and recently acquired Kenny Pickett on the guard list, Cleveland has a hole to dig out, according to Haslam.

Before playing a game for Brown’s signed Franchisen Watson, who then had three Pro Bowl selection for his credit, to a completely guaranteed five-year contract of $ 230 million. He is still owed $ 92 million.

“We took a big swing and misses with Deshaun,” Haslam said last month. “We thought we had the Quarterbacken, we didn’t, and we gave up many drafts of choices to get him. So we have to dig out of that hole. (It) was a whole organization decision and it ends with Dee (Haslam, Jimmy’s wife and franchise owner) and I, so keep us responsible.”
