Former Wynn Resorts Ltd. CEO Steve Wynn has been contacted to finance a mobile technology company’s bid to acquire TikTok, according to a published report.
Palo Alto, California-based Applovin is among several companies and investors who offer offers to buy the popular social media platform that faces a Saturday period to sell or turn off.
Wynn, a resident of Florida, could not be reached on Wednesday in the Wall Street Journal report on Applovin who is looking for him as an economic supporter. The magazine quoted unidentified people who are familiar with the matter as sources.
President Donald Trump was expected to be informed on Wednesday of possible freer for Tiktok, a platform that specializes in short videos.
Cloud Computing Company Oracle, based in Austin, Texas, has submitted a bid for Tiktok, as well as multinational technology company Amazon.
Deputy President JD Vance, Trade Secretary Howard Lutnick, national security counselor Mike Waltz and Head of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard were planned to meet Trump to discuss the sale of TikTok by its Chinese owner, byteanance.
The magazine reported authorities in Beijing has signaled that China would be open to a business, but see it as part of a cluster of issues that it hopes to negotiate with Washington, including customs, according to people who are familiar with the government’s thinking. Chinese officials were waiting for Trump’s customs plan to be revealed on Wednesday.
Wynn left Wynn Resorts 2018 after publishing reports which he sexually attacked resort employees. He has ever denied someone.
He has said that he no longer wants to be in the public eye, but earlier this year, a Nevada’s Supreme Court appealed to the United States Supreme Court, which last month rejected hearing arguments to turn the New York Times against Sullivan, a landmark 1964 decision that established the bench mark for slander. Wynn is in a legal struggle with Associated Press for allegations of damages.
This is a developing story. Come back for updates.
