Capitals F NIC DOWD signs 2-year contract extension

Washington Capital’s Center Nic Dowd signed a two -year, $ 6 million contract extension on Wednesday.

Dowd, who turns 35 on May 27, has registered career high totals in goal (14), points (27) and play played (81) this season.

He would become an unlimited free agent this summer.

“NIC has been an integrated member of our team, both on the ice and in our leadership group, and we are pleased to extend his contract for another two years,” Capital’s manager Chris Patrick said in a statement. “During his time in Washington, Nic has proven to be a consistent and reliable two -way player who can rely on all situations. This signs our depths at the critical center position as we advance. Of the ice, NIC has been a perfect professional and has made significant contributions to our society through his charity.”

To Patrick’s Point, the Dowd was the recipient of the organization’s Caps Care Community Award to honor its efforts in society during the season 2024-25.

Dowd has 176 points (84 goals, 92 assists) in 581 career games with Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks and Capitals.
