Washington Commander’s main owner Josh Harris asked all the questions to rest on the team’s name on Monday.

The commanders are here to stay.

“It is now embraced by our team, by our culture, by our coaching staff,” he said of Moniker. “We go with it.”

A survey about the Washington Post-Schar school showed that only 16 percent of Commander’s fans supported to hold the name, which was adopted in 2022 after the franchise spent two seasons as the Washington football team. That name was used when the franchise continued from Redskins, which it had used since 1937.

But after a season 12-5 that saw Washington land in the NFC Championship game for the first time since the 1991 season, the name has stay, Harris said at a news conference.

“Now, in this building, the name commanders mean something,” he said. “It’s about players who love football, are good at football, beating hard, mentally tough, fantastic teammates. It’s really meaningful. That name is growing in meaning.”

With the name issue that decided, Harris said that the commanders would emphasize to improve the guard list, “fix up” team head office in Ashburn, VA., And move on with plans to move out of dated northwestern Stadium in the suburb of Landover, MD. And into a New Stadium.
