Dallas Cowboys hired Arizona Cardinals Offensive Line Trainer Notton Adams as their new offensive coordinator, the team announced on Saturday morning.

He replaces Brian Schottenheimer, who last month was promoted to head coach after Cowboys separated roads with Mike McCarthy after the season.

The employment of Adams seems to indicate an increased focus on the running game in Dallas for the next season. Adams, 41, worked for the Cardinals for the past two seasons after spending four years with Indianapolis Colts as assistant offensive line trainer (2019-20) and Tight Ends Coach (2021-22).

During Adams, the Cardinals ranked seventh in the league in 2024 in rushing farms (144.2 per match) and 11th total crime. Meanwhile, the cowboys ranked 27th on the ground at 100.3 YPG and had the smallest rushing touchdowns in the NFL with six.

One of the names that are usually linked to cowboys with regard to the NFL draft in April is Boise State, which runs back Ashton Jeanty, which led the nation with 2,601 rushing farms and 29 rushing touchdowns last season while finishing second in Heisman Trophy – Voting.

Dallas has the 12th election in the first round after completing 7-10 2024.

While Adams would be responsible for the crime in 2025, Schottenheimer is expected to call the plays. It matches what the team did last season, because McCarthy served as the game call.
