Cubs Place LHP Justin Steele (elbow) on 15-day IL

Chicago Cub’s left-hander Justin Steele is on his way to the 15-day damaged list of tendinitis in his pitching elbow.

The move is retroactive until Tuesday, one day after Steele spread three hits and knocked out eight battles over seven speechless innings in a 7-0 rush over Texas Rangers.

Steele, 29, is 3-1 with a 4.76 era in four starts this season.

Steele is an All-Star in 2023 and owns a record of 32-22 with a 3.30 era in 102 career games (91 starts) with Chicago.

The right-wing dealer Ethan Roberts was recalled from Triple-A Iowa, where he has allowed four hits over 4 1/3 speechless innings this season.

Roberts, 27, is 1-2 with a 4.72 era in 30 career relief with the kids.
