Arizona Diamondbacks placed closer to AJ PUK on the 15-day damaged list of inflammation in his left pitching elbow, in the middle of a number of movements Saturday.
In addition to being without a PUK for at least the next two weeks, Diamondback’s right-hander chose Bryce Jarvis and his left hand Joe Mantiply to Triple-A Reno.
While the right hand Drey Jameson was recalled from Reno, the club also bought the contracts from his right hand JP Feyereisen and Juan Morillo. To make a seat on the 40-man list, Infielder Grae Kessinger was appointed for assignments.
PUK, 29, has a 3.38 era during his first eight excursions, while converting all four of his rescue opportunities.
PUK acquired from Miami Marlins last season and is 17-20 with a 3.53 era and has 26 rescues over 212 performances (four starts) with Oakland Athletics (2019, 2021-22), Marlins (2023-24) and Diamondbacks.
Jarvis, 27, had a 7.36 era in six relief excursions this season, while Mantiply, 34, fought to a 15.95 era in eight relief appearance. Mantiply had a 3.92 era last season in a career best 75 performances.
Jameson, 27, has a 2.63 era over 19 career appearance (seven starts) but has not struck in the big leagues since 2023.
Feyereisen, 32, will make his Arizona debut after posting a 2.95 era over parts of four large league seasons with three different clubs.
Morillo, 26, will make his Major League debut after eight seasons in smaller leagues.
