Los Angeles Dodgers is looking forward to turning the page when hosting Chicago Cubs in the rubber match in their three-game series on Sunday.
Dodgers lost 16-0 on Saturday night, their biggest shut-off defeat in 50 years.
Dodgers hit 2-0 on his way to the seventh on Saturday but handed 14 runs over the last three rounds to cement their first loss at home this season.
“For me, right now, it’s just the way of thinking to try to forget this and win the series,” Dodger’s manager Dave Roberts said. “I feel really good about (Sunday) and (Tyler) Glasnow takes Haugen and has a full layer of pen.”
GlasNow (1-0, 6.43 era) had a tough time with the weather conditions in its latest excursion last Sunday at Philadelphia Phillies. The right hand lasted only two rounds, which allowed five runs on two hits and five walks in the 8-7 loss.
“When I had a couple of bad grip on balls, I lost my aggression and rhythm in Haugen,” Glasnow said. “I couldn’t be aggressive, I couldn’t use everything I wanted. I think it was just a tough day. Just try to go out for the rest of the week and figure it out.”
Glasnow has made four performances to the kids in their career, including two starts, and is 0-1 with a 10.61 era.
The Cubs rough Dodgers Reliever Ben Casparius in six runs and seven hits in 1 2/3 rounds on Saturday night. He had not allowed a run in his previous six relief performances this season covering nine rounds.
“I will not put too much credibility in a rough excursion,” Roberts said.
The right-wing dealer Colin Rea (0-0, 0.00) is scheduled to make his first season start for the kids on Sunday.
Sea, who made 27 starts last season, has made three performances from the bull this season and has not allowed a run in 5 1/3 rounds.
Rea has made seven performances towards Dodgers in her career, including four starts, and is 1-1 with a 6.37 era.
Cub’s designated Hitter Seiya Suzuki is day to day after worsening a wrist injury on Saturday while they hit a line drive in the third round. He originally injured the wrist on Monday while sliding into the second base against Texas Rangers.
“I thought we were making progress, and he got stuck a bit on that line drive,” said Cubs chief Craig Counsell. “Only kind of reborn it, so we’re daily at this time.”
Chicago will continue to look for the first bass man Michael Busch to hurt.
He went 4-for-6 on Saturday with a home run, two doubles and four points.
“I had a couple of quick balls early in bats that I thought I just missed, and then I got one and it felt pretty good,” Busch said about his second round of home run on Saturday. “Just to get started as well as it was good. I thought we had good bats all night top to the bottom.”
The former Dodger’s first draft for the first round in 2019 is 9-for-22 in five career road games at Dodger Stadium with two home races, four doubles and seven RBI.
