Duke on No. 1 in AP Poll for the first time since November 2021

Duke finished Auburn’s eight -week reign at No. 1 and reached the top of Associated Press Top 25 Poll Monday for the first time since November 2021.

Blue Devils (28-3) received 52 of the first 61 places to lead the ranking for the first time since the Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last season. Duke beat Rival North Carolina 82-69 on Saturday for her eighth straight victory.

No. 2 Houston (27-4) also moved up one place and received five votes, while Auburn (27-4) tumbled two seats and picked up the four remaining polls in first place after Back-to-back losses last week to Texas A&M and Alabama.

Florida (27-4) jumped a ring to No. 4 and Crimson Tide (24-7) climbed two places to No. 5.

St. John’s (27-4), Michigan State (26-5), Tennessee (25-6), Texas Tech (24-7) and Clemson (26-5) round the top 10 when after year measures begin to warms up.

Texas A&M (22-9) vaulted eight places to No. 14, while No. 18 Wisconsin (23-8) and No. 21 Missouri (21-10) each slid six places.
