Not to worry. After all, someone else can lift the Lombardi trophy, as the Philadelphia Eagles proved with a 40-22 route by Chiefs in Super Bowl Lix on Sunday evening.
So can Eagles be the first team since the managers 2022-23 that is repeated as world champion? We know that the answer comes on February 8, 2026, when the Super Bowl Lis questioned in Santa Clara, Calif.
Until then, no one denies that Eagles will be a front runner to make another deep playoff next season. Here is an early look at their prospects and those of four other hopeful.
Philadelphia Eagles

The good news for Philadelphia is actually great: the defensive front that helped to produce six sacks and the offensive line that held an effective attack that crushed against the managers will return to a large extent intact next season.
Recently coined Super Bowl MVP Jalen hurts and his silent Swagger doesn’t get anywhere either, nor have you heard a thing or two about the revival of running back Saquon Barkley.
General Manager Howie Roseman and Co. Figure for prioritizing a pledge guard Mekhi Becton and defensive ending Josh Sweat in free agency. However, staff challenges always show up to defend masters, and Eagles has young talents to record with their veterans.
Kansas City Chiefs
Sure, the three turfred bid ended with a surprising but still resounding can, but the reality that keeps the managers in battle is who remains as their coach and quarterback.
Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes looked confused through large parts of Super Bowl until KC started finding Paywirt in spam. The duo certainly has a championship strap, but helps Kansas City to three titles and five Super Bowl performances since the 2019 season.
Still only 29, Mahomes have made a habit of getting their supporting role to shine. With the managers who have barely CAP rooms and a glut of imminent free agents, he must follow after once to what looks like an uphill of a season for General Manager Brett Veach and Front Office.
Philadelphia exposed holes in Chief’s offensive line that must be taken up, and Kansas City also has a need for a broad receiver.
Baltimore Ravens
Yes, he is dynamic and talented, but can he win the big one?
A variety of that question seems to be Raven’s Quarterback Lamar Jackson into each new season, so why would 2025 be different?
Jackson has at least shown a love to lead Baltimore to the threshold to a breakthrough and helped the team to double-digit victories and an AFC playoffs for six of his seven seasons. Only 28 he projects too much more success as a passing and a runner and can have a chip on the shoulder after a narrow runner in the MVP race.
Ravens must address the left side of its offensive line during the low season, with tackle Ronnie Stanley and guard Patrick Mekari in front of free agency.
Adding defensive players would also be helpful. Ravens finished in the lower fourth in sales forced over the past season and has only three takeaways in the last nine playoffs.
Buffalo bills
With the reigning NFL etc. Josh Allen leading the crime, the bills certainly have the potential to create bedlam in Buffalo (through Orchard Park, new, of course).
Allen made league story in 2024 as the first player with at least 25 touchdown passes and 10 rushing TDS while he threw fewer than 10 interceptions. He remained a fantastic leader, almost piloting the bills to Super Bowl in a nail-biting AFC championship loss for Chiefs.
Correcting their latest seasonal fight against Kansas City Tops Buffalos would be a season list over goals. Before that, however, Front Office must help set the bills for success during a season where Amari Cooper, Rasul Douglas and Damar Hamlin, among other things, looms as unlimited free agents.
Detroit Lions
Many key figures from Lion’s latest wave will return to the fold of 2025, including Quarterback Jared Goff, wide receiver AMON-RA St. Brown, runs back Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery and Pass Rusher Aidan Hutchinson, who comes back from a serious leg injury.
