Farewell World Soccer Talk, and thanks for all the memories

After 20 years of running World football callsI officially hand over the reins, so I no longer run the site.

Instead I have accepted a new position at a marketing company in another industry, one I had before I launched Wst 2005.

You remember that I successfully sold World football calls2022. Since then I have been working on transferring the site to the new owners. My mission is clear and they continue to run the site.

Looking back through the world’s football call history

When I look back, I have so many wonderful memories to reflect on. One of my proudest achievements was to take what started as a blog (EPL call) written in my bedroom at nights and weekends and to turn it into World football callswhich grew to rank on the five best English -language football sites in the United States. At the height, World football calls Generated more traffic than fifa.com, mlssoccer.com, premierleague.com and Realmadrid.com.

On the way we broke so many exclusive stories, which was an incredible performance for me and my team since we were an independent publisher. At our height we had five full-time employees and a team of 15-20 freelance writers all over the world. Managing that team was one of my proudest progress, and building the site into a profitable, debt -free company was something I was very proud of, especially when so many competing websites crashed and burned.

World football calls means different things to different people. Some remember us as one of the OG football podcast. After launching the pod in 2005, we had an incredible driving of 20 years where the show took on many different forms. An interview podcast that included conversations with some of the biggest names in the sport. A preview/review of weekend games. And then finally a TV/streaming industry podcast that caught listeners in the latest ways to watch games, as well as a deep dive in many of the biggest stories from the football world.

Over the years we published books (remember, Soccerwarz), a EPL Talk MagazineSoccer T-shirts, Soccer TV Schedules app, a daily email news letter (WST Insider), documentaries and how you want to look at many other things.

From the first day, my goal was to help grow the football game in the United States. Our focus in recent years on making our TV schedules as accessible as possible helped a lot to make it easier for people to find out where to watch games especially when there were so many confusing alternatives.

Thanks everyone

Of course I could not have done it without you, the readers and support from World football calls team.

Hopefully we have been joy, information or lively debate in your life. It is a goodbye from me, but please contact me on social media. I look forward to watching the sport as hell, continuing to support Swansea City and travel more around the world.

Thanks for the trip.
