The Florida Center Micah Handlogten is ready to return from the broken left leg maintained in last year’s Southeastern Conference Championship game.
The 7-foot-1 junior said on Friday that he plans to join the third ranked streets (21-3, 8-3 SEK) for Saturday’s match against South Carolina (10-14, 0-11) in Gainesville , Fla.
“I’m back,” said the handlog. “I’m ready to come out and accumulate for streets.”
The handlog initially planned that red sweater this season after having a bar and two screws inserted in the leg after his horrible injury during Florida’s loss of 86-67 to Auburn on March 17.
By returning now, the handlog can help Florida weather ankle damage to start Big Man Alex Condon and Backup forward Sam Alexis.
The handlog was an average of 5.3 points and 6.9 returns in 33 matches (32 starts) during their first season with Gators 2023-24. He transferred to Florida after posting 7.6 points, 9.8 returns and 2.3 blocks in 32 matches (all starts) at Marshall 2022-23.
