A megare resort on the strip announced the appointment of two high-level managers on Monday, both of which give years of Las Vegas experience to the still-heavy property.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas Casino Hotel hired David Willis as Chief Strategy Officer and Kevin Sweet as Senior Vice President of Slot Marketing and Operations, according to a news message.
“When Fontainebleau Las Vegas enters its second entire financial year, the luxury and the casino strengthen its leadership team with strategic employment that signals a bold strategy for the future,” stated publishing.
Willis served as the most manager as Chief Commercial Officer for Crown Resorts, an Australian gaming and hospitality company. Sweet was most recently with Rio Las Vegas, where he was the main game manager of the property. Both managers worked at Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas between 2015 and 2022, according to their LinkedIn profiles.
Maurice Woode, president of Fontainebleau, said Willis and Sweet, “bring valuable leadership experiences and a collaboration method that supports our ongoing innovation and positive track.”
Fontainebleau of $ 3.7 billion has undergone several changes at the management level since its debut in December 2023, including appointing wood, a long-term Wynn Resorts director, to monitor the property less than two months after it is opened.
“David’s strategic vision and global experience, combined with Kevin’s deep understanding of gaming and luxurious hospitality sectors, will help our growth and keep Fontainebleau Las Vegas at the forefront of the industry,” said Wood. “We look forward to getting David and Kevin to join our team.”
In addition to the upper levels, Fontainebleau’s entry into the Las Vegas market has been hindered by a mixture of internal deficiencies, such as an underdeveloped customer database, and external factors, such as its less than ideal place for pedestrians at pedestrians at the northern end of the strip.
In a new interview with Review-Journal, Wood’s optimism expressed that the property approached the end of its growing pain and was closer to finding a firm foot on the market.
“I think we have now established ourselves as a destination with not only good hotels or food and drink or beautiful property, but it is really about the people who work here and in the service they provide,” he said at the end of 2024 .
The property was recently accepted in Virtuoso, a global collection of luxury oriented travel agencies, destinations and advanced services.
Fontainebleau’s ownership group bought five acres near the Casino Hotel last year for $ 112.5 million and called it a “strategic acquisition.”
